This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to produce detailed engineering drawings containing bearings and mechanical seals, engineering keys and keyways, holes and shafts to provide specific clearances by applying general tolerances, and confirming the geometric shape of components by applying geometric tolerances.
Skill practice exercises consist of the preparation of detail drawings using general and geometric tolerances and surface finish indications using manufacturer’s tables to determine dimensions. Drawings can be produced using manual drafting methods but are setup for computer drafting.
A practice competency test is included at the end of the book to prepare the student.
