The resource covers accessing, inputting and storing information used in manufacturing, engineering or related environments, using computing technology.
The aim of this unit is to develop skills in interacting with different commonly used software programs. Each lesson gives an introduction to the software and interacts with other programs. Specific courses and units are available within the scope of this course, or other courses to develop the skills necessary to fully utilise the software.
Software programs include word processing, spreadsheets, databases, CAD (specifically AutoCAD), image capture and powerpoint presentations.
Skill practice exercises require students to complete a number of simple exercises using different software programs.
